No worries Jim,my taste in music is quiet eclectic.Opera to thrash, whatever the mood! Think everybodies memmory of OMD is one of middle of the road pop.But when they were on the Factory label, they were a very experimental synth & Bass duo.If your into Joy Division, give their Organisation Album a spin, you might be pleasantly suprised. All the best Ian.

The earliest album by The Shamen sounded like them(a bit of a quirky fact,I know).
Was the singer called Andy Partridge or Parfitt?
Partridge Phippsy.Parfitt's in Status quo ;)

They're okay Spud.
Let's be fair about this, there was some pretty awful crap in the 80's(just check out fashions, fads, cars etc),which is why I would not launch a huge attack on them.
I ****ing hated the 80's.The only good thing to come from it was LW Subbuteo teams...........

Yeah no what you mean Phippsy, but i was really into em through the 80's.
Nothing worse than when a band splits up,& then the lead singer keeps going & turns out years of crap!
They were the soundtrack to my 80's tho',& gave years of fond memories,s'pose thats nostalgia for you!
Funny how music tastes change over the years, really into the Delays now.
Ciao 4 now.

 - 'kin balls ! - why ?

suddenly the Genesis reunion doesn't look half bad :-?

............... ;)

Yes I know that they probably went crap but time changes all.
People, music, football etc ( don't forget that even F.C. Inter was a great team and now... sigh.. ).
But I am loving their first period when I was a kid in the early '70s. I was very impressed with their music and with the Jethro Tull.
.... ok this one is pure "nostalgia"..

by spud » 13 Apr 2006, 08:36

Probably get slated, but if anyone's interested,Orchestral manoeuvres in the dark have reformed back to their original line up.New album,& tour playing the whole of the Architecture & Morality Album.
I know they went crap & lightweight ,but their 1st five albums I thought were awesome.
Ciao 4 now.Ian :p

Sorry Curv:Didn't mean to rubbish something you might like.
I just hated the little git, moaning that he would move cos he may have to pay more tax.Why he didn't just do what most of Formula One have done and move to Monte Carlo,I don't know?
Be okay if the music was worth writing about, but it isn't!
That track "Mama" was okay-ish,but I'm typing this with gritted teeth even then.........

by curvanordmilano » 12 Apr 2006, 06:41

Wow ! all enthusiast !!

by PhippsFlix » 11 Apr 2006, 19:58

Why?Have they spent all that cash already?
They need more ?? like I need taking to a slimmer's meeting(I'm 4 stone underweight!)
Always hated Phil Collins........
