Re: recent ebay joblot purchases

Any pics of the blue one?
Or maybe I should have checked Peter Upton's site first before asking this?
He hasn't got a photo because

1) He wasn't a kid in 1970's Burnley
2) He doesn't respond to emails

Re: Burnley 2nd (Special Order)

Yes ..but there are two versions of the blue kit too .. Sky shorts and socks bases Blue outers Sky inners ..White shorts Claret socks Blue outers White inners .. You'll never collect everything because none of us will ever know the full extent of what was available in batches of 50 in every 1970s town

Re: Burnley 2nd (Special Order)

The version with continuous sleeve stripes as opposed to the special order pattern is more common as they were available from two shops in town between 1976 and 1981 , latterly on the zombie figures of course . Still rare in East Lancashire but not as rare as out in the wider world, I know of four s...

Re: recent ebay joblot purchases

Nice team apart from the broken players good luck finding the spares ;) different to the more common Burnley shop version of the Yellow kit but not quite as rare as the Blue Burnley away kit ...the Blue kit 1973-76 is certainly the most rare SSG Burnley I've seen TWO genuine ones in forty odd yesrs

Re: Need help

Condition is everything when collecting and whilst the trays look immaculate the actual chest looks very damaged. That is bound to have an effect on the value. Can't say that I've ever seen one for sale on EBay, though I haven't specifically been looking for this item. Couple on recently...difficul...

Re: Orange Footballs

There was a time of course following the old leather ball when the orange ball was used in good weather and the white only really used for floodlit games or in the depths of mid-winter

Re: 18mm Balls

Playing in winter is a crazy idea. It'll never catch on.
 I don't mind the cold so much at City as the view from the back of the top tier ... might as well be on the roof of the Arndale
