Re: Subbuteo Pet Hates

The plastic inserts/trays in teams and box sets during the 90’s after they used polystyrene. Absolute rubbish. Reference labels which were not positioned correctly on 90’s teams. All team names should be visible on front and bottom end of box. Not some on the reverse of box. Reference labels on 90’s...

Re: Alex Hymer-

If you sent money through friends and family option, i assume you get no protection. Is this the case? As friends and family is saying you know the person and i guess sending money as a gift, rather than making a purchase from a stranger, which paypal charge fees on, and probably set aside a certain...

Re: ref. 2 and ref 537 (bordeaux)

A different shade of blue. Darker blue for 537. 537 also has round neck, not sure if the 002 from the same year(s) also has round or v-neck. The 002 from later years has a v-neck.

Re: Ref 198 LW MP?

With regards to ref 5 with badge, it’s a Lazio team of the Special coloured box from Parodi (produced for the italian market in the early 80’s). Thank you. I am pretty certain the box set was originally sold in Uk and that these are the original teams. I think the set dates about 1983 - 85. From wh...

Re: Flat pitch?

As a child, my father glued my nylon pitch to a thin sheet of hardboard. It was excellent, lines were straight, no creases on the pitch, the board and pitch always instantly settled flat when put on the dining room table. The board did not warp. And it was light enough to be able to carry to and fro...

Re: Probably the biggest and best LW collection ever!

Look at this: http://www.subbuteoitalia.com/struttura.htm Yes subbuteoitalia is a amazing collection. The first site i found years ago was Beppeming’s. Fabulous collection, the site is the easiest to navigate and view. Shows nearly every ref number and the big variations, but many of the smaller va...

Re: Enquiries about a set and team I've just got.

All makes a bit more sense now. I was not sure if the teams were within the set or not. As this set was around from i think 1981-86, the contents would have changed a fair bit during this period. Hopefully someone on here who collects and knows a lot more about box sets will be able to give you a be...

Re: Enquiries about a set and team I've just got.

The set you have is from the mid 80’s. I assume the 2 teams you have were with the set. 702 Coventry is from 1990, the USA team is about 1994. The trays the teams are in are correct for those years. However both these types of trays were not produced in the mid 80’s. The poly tray from late 1989 to ...

Re: Enquiries about a set and team I've just got.

The team is 702 Coventry City. Its a common team, boxed in excellent condition worth maybe £10. And that is being generous. I do not think its a original team to the set. Its more likely the original teams were rare NASL teams, and been replaced by a collector with common teams and then sold on. My ...

Re: Probably the biggest and best LW collection ever!

Yes i translated and read that too. Also the site is dated October 2016. I do not remember seeing a seller from Italy selling what could be this collection on Ebay over last couple of years. Although is likely to have sold some of it privately.

Re: Updated team chart Help

Over the years teams kits changed, and so did the subbuteo teams, especially in the 80’s and 90’s when team kits became less basic and generic. Take a look at ‘Peter Upton’s subbuteo tribute pages’ on the internet. The amount of information on his side is huge and covers all areas of subbuteo. Their...

Ref 198 LW MP?

Recently purchased a job lot and one of the box sets contained the following two part teams. I think the box set dates from about 1985. The first team i assume is a ref 5 with white badge. The second team i think is a ref 198 MP. Done some research and all the ref 198 all seem to be HP. I have not s...

Re: Ref. 294 Newell's Old Boys Machine Printed Version

collecting as an investment is very difficult. I doubt my collection of over 400 llwteams is worth anything like what I have paid for the teams. Right now rare lw teams do seem to be getting more expensive but I think the peak may not be far away. We are all getting older and the amount of cash we ...
