Re: Ref. 294 Newell's Old Boys Machine Printed Version

collecting as an investment is very difficult. I doubt my collection of over 400 llwteams is worth anything like what I have paid for the teams. Right now rare lw teams do seem to be getting more expensive but I think the peak may not be far away. We are all getting older and the amount of cash we ...

Re: Mp Lightweight Spares

Not got a full list together yet. Just wanted a few names of who best to contact, and would then send them a list personally, for them to get back to me with availability and prices.
Does John Briggs still sell subbuteo spares? Is he on this site?

Re: Ref. 294 Newell's Old Boys Machine Printed Version

Was this team on ebay? I see this too. Thought fair price in todays values. I bought my along with 788 Brescia about 10 years ago. And they were immaculate.
Good buy as this team is not very often seen for sale. Apart from the blemish on the front of the box, looks excellent condition too.

Re: Ref. 294 Newell's Old Boys Machine Printed Version

To pick up a rare mint LW for around £100 is becoming very difficult. The price of the rare LW’s continues to increase and those teams that are in excellent condotion are selling for between £100 - £200 or even more in some cases. Good buys and bargains can still be found but again becoming more and...

Re: identification of 2 teams

The second team is Sampdoria, version from about 1992 or 1993. Short running version of a year at the most i think.

Re: Best light weight reference site

By far the best L/W guide is Subbuteo Italia. It has pictures of nearly every kit version/variation. And you will probably be surprised just how many their are.

Re: Where to buy?

love it or hate it, the best place to buy is ebay. Largest selection that changes daily. Prices can be up and down but you generally pay less than from a dealer. Study description and photos closely to avoid paying good money for damaged players.

Re: Are auctions dead

I think with regard to auctions on ebay, its going that way. Increased postal costs, ebay fees and their selling strategies mean if a item does not sell for a certain amount, the seller makes only pence or could even be at a loss. This applies to the lower value items, say under a fiver. And realist...

Re: vintagesubbuteossparesshop70s

So given what has been said on this forum about the bad Enay sellers... Who are the good regular subbuteo sellers? I am purely a L/W MP collector, I take no interest in the sales of Heavyweight teams and players, do not know what is genuine and what has been re-painted. And as it does not really af...

Re: vintagesubbuteossparesshop70s

Last year i sold a few heavyweight teams on ebay. One was a ref 21. And guess who bought it, iwanttobuyallyoursubbuteo, the buying account of anthony gilligan. Vintagesubbuteosparesshop70s is his selling account. He does have good feedback but i think that will change in the future.
