Re: Brookfield Solo League: Season 06

AFter our chats, looking forward to seeing how S07 develops. Have the league decided on a start date for the new campaign yet? Will it involve a winter break at Christmas?!

Re: Premier League 17/18 solo

It'll be something I need to decide on if I can commit to another full PL season. For now, it's time to start GW9 with Spurs v Liverpool. The focus is on the top of the table before we switch the the battle at the bottom in the later games. Full report and updated table in the next few days.

Re: Premier League 17/18 solo

Question for all the people reading and keeping up with my league. First of all, thanks for the interest. Second - when the time comes and 3 teams are relegated, how would be best to go in to another season next year? If I can do it again, should I restart and use the 20 PL teams from the 18/19 seas...

Re: Brookfield Solo League: Season 06

Looks like relegation sorted from D1. Real battle for the top two positions from D2 to gain promotion. I trust it is a 2 up, 2 down format?

Re: Premier League 17/18 solo

Been a week since the last game, but rest assured the PL continues. Just had time for one game tonight, MNF, Watford hold Arsenal to a 1-1 draw under the lights. Doucoure gave the hosts the lead but Ozil quickly equalised before Gomez denied Lacazette late on. Important point for Watford - Arsenal c...

Re: Premier League 17/18 solo

TIGHT AT THE TOP AS TWO POINTS SEPARATE TOP SIX Manchester City and Manchester United were both left frustrated in Gameweek 6 which allowed the chasing pack to close the gap as the league table has the top four separated only by goal difference, and the top six a split by just two points. City had ...

Re: Premier League 17/18 solo

Really enjoying the Premier League mate. Better than the real thing! Used to go to all the Southampton home games many years ago. I'm not a great fan of the modern league,to much money in it and I'm not willing to give them mine!! The best thing in recent years (in my opinion) was Leicester winning...

Re: Brookfield Solo League: Season 06

Do you find cup games to still be interesting or are they like nowadays where all the managers and players could "do without them"?

Re: Premier League 17/18 solo

There used to be a chap who made a war time football game called Vintage Days. As no substitutes were allowed he introduced the concept of an injured player, which was hampered by having a piece of sandpaper stuck to the bottom of the base. You could consider using this idea on the lower teams stri...

Re: Premier League 17/18 solo

Shorter passes when attacking and more players going forward for the attacking teams. Depending on who is playing maybe less defensive flicks too but it's not as a rule, just tends to happen that way. I also put the keeper on the edge of the box when the better teams are defending, but lesser teams ...

Re: Premier League 17/18 solo

What I meant by no bias was, as a Liverpool fan, there was no bias to them winning all their games and making sure the likes of Man Utd and Everton, for example, lose more often than not. However, I do agree that I am trying to make the so-called bigger teams play better. Each team has a formation c...
