Re: OHW JOB LOT....

My compliments ! Some remarkable findings, like ref 5 with hooped trim on socks, ref 3 with two stripes on socks, a very rare ref 14 and ref 40 black shorts, an amazing ref 17 with hooped stripes on socks instead of blue with white trim, a fantastic ref 27 like the one I posted recently, and a never...

Re: Base Shape

Maybe I have explained badly. None of you in the forum were involved. They weren't your teams Focus. The two "Hamilton " were genuine for me, the Dumbarton unfortunately, it wasn't ! But this is just to let you know that, when you have the team in front of you , you may understand a lot of things fr...

Re: Base Shape

I think the most difficult ones to spot are the teams that are only part repainted and have been turned from common refs into rarer ones. YES, but good collectors have their own parameter to understand what it is genuine and what it is not. Box, bases, inners, painting, colour of painting (that som...

Re: Base Shape

I have never spoken about box! I collect teams. No ref or box. I think, Spud, that you took the late team ref 192 you found and you moved them into a fantastic reffed small box with the small window, didn't you I would have done it, because I knew what kind of team it was. I totally agree with you. ...

Re: Base Shape

I totally disagree with "Focus on" speech (sorry Mark...). I focused mainly on the inner disks , because they are the most easiest way to understand the "time" of a team. The lower bases have a wider range of shape and, as Mark has written, more overlapping than the inners. i see genuine late ref te...

Re: Base Shape

Or was it that the early teams had the same bases and disks then as we go through the 70s and Subbuteo produced new moulds everything started to get mixed up Exactly. Speaking of HW only, the first bases were the same as the OHW production. The lower base was "low" and the inner disks had the big c...

Re: Base Shape

The OHW bases and the early HW range had bases totally different from the middle of 70ies that were totally different from the bases of the end of the 70ies.
There were used many kind of bases but it is possible torecognize them during the time.

Re: collecting rare items...someone here ?

There is an entry on the Peter Upton site for ' The U Paint Outfit '. Apparently sold between 1965 and 1968. This is mine, empty, unfortunately. The sticker on the lid doesn't clarify what was inside. The box is small and "Flat", so no Set N or NN or classic C109 goals enterede in the box, so no go...

Re: LIVERPOOL AWAY

According to
http://www.historicalkits.co.uk/Liverpo ... ange-g.gif
Liverpool played with this kit in 1972/73 than turned to white socks.
Season 72/73 it is just when range up to 81 was released by Subbuteo....
