Re: Premier League 17/18 solo

Man United's 36 points should be enough to keep them up, with nearly half the season gone I can't see the bottom three getting near that total.

Re: N00b question

Why do you want to speed up the process, are you envisaging painting a large number of teams at once ? I would have thought that painting would be quicker than using pens in the long run, due to the more fluid nature of it.

Re: No blocking flicks

I can't disagree with any of the above comments and ideally it would be best to play to the strict rules from the start. But Subbuteo is a game and its very easy to turn somebody off at an early stage.

Re: No blocking flicks

When we first stated playing at school nobody used blocking flicks. Its not a bad idea for the absolute novice who has never played, just for their initial few games until they get used to flicking. I've just introduced somebody to the game and it does take a while to master flicking properly, havin...

Re: Think Subbuteos dear to collect?

I bought a replica and I'm quite happy with that, think it was less than £70. Having said that, if you have the money to spare and it means that much to own something why not.

Nice job, the gun on the base works well and not too fussy.

Re: Bristol Subbuteo Football Club

I see no reason why you can't play games with HW's against flat bases. It worked quite well when I played Bob and Dave a couple of weeks ago. I think the two different styles made the games even more interesting. In fact it would be intriguing to play with a mixed base team.

Re: Most spent on a team?

I know Skell doesn't like to mention it, but I seem to remember him paying what I think is still the world record for a team a few years back.

Brilliant! Is that really MEANT to be him? Yes it is, I did it some time ago and based it on a photo in your book. I think he was on a bird watching trip somewhere. Well that's fantastic Steve...I feel honoured that you've taken the time to do that. :awe: May I save the your picture here for my own...
