Re: Top Spin Identity Puzzle

That looks like one of Lloydies teams. He'll be able to tell you in due course I should imagine. Topspin are lovely to play with, so not surprised.

Re: PLYMOUTH PROGRAMME

I think pretty much every football club use the 'Subbuteo image' in some form or other. Either in clothing, programmes, merchandise or social media. My lot use it in their twitter feed every match, showing the line up. You see Clubs every week using the image...it's very common these days, and great...

Blimey £600!!!
What team was that if you don't mind me asking?
A sealed Ref 282 in small splash box. I've since sold it on for someone else to enjoy.

Re: celtic 2nd ref 362 query

In principle you are of course correct...they are just bits of painted plastic. However...they are collectible, and like anything that is collectible...Artwork, old cars, stamps, ephemera etc, etc, you could say the same about that. Bits of paint on some canvas, bit of metal with wheels, bit of paper...

Re: "Old Subbuteo"

Hello everyone, just returned to this forum after a while and couldn't resist this thread :D A few words in defence of non-tournament and solo play....don't get me wrong playing in a tournament is great for meeting people, especially putting faces to usernames, and making some good friends, but the...

Re: Recent acquisitions

Hi Alberto, Wow what great finds. I'm glad you have shown them. I have all the Catalogued Portuguese sides in named splash box's. It seems SSG produced them in named box's before they came out in the later catalogue, and released in the 200 range and smaller splash box. Similar to the 191-195 teams ...

Re: "Old Subbuteo"

I obviously misunderstood your original post regarding DuX bases then Ralph. :-) No problem mate. As with everything you can't please everyone fella. I'm the opposite to you, I prefer to see both players using the same equipment. That's why I like themed events, where the organisers produce the team...

Re: "Old Subbuteo"

'Dux' bases are nothing like the bases you get with moulded teams Ralph. Completely different. The profile is lower, and the thickness of the plastic seems to be thicker. You can see the difference on the edge where the base joins the inner disc. It was an imperfection is the processing...a few came...

Re: "Old Subbuteo"

Basically Ralph, according to some Italian friends of mine, at events some people want all the entrants to use the same type of team, and other do not. Instead of leaving up to the various event hosts, some factions have thrown their toys out of the pram, shame, as there is virtually no such game/s...

Re: Over and out.

The forum is a great resource of knowledge. I think you are right in what you say about social media taking over in conversational pieces. However, I take a different outlook to this forum now. Quiet happy to upload something worthwhile, if I think it adds value as a resource and somewhere to store ...

Re: "Old Subbuteo"

It's not the 'Oldsubbuteo' rules or guys running it that are the problem...but the one's wanting to be Chiefs rather than Indians. Too many 'Cooks' and all.... The reason 'Dux' bases were liked by some, was because they were slightly lower and had a slightly wider base. So why would you want that, i...
