Re: Dictover...

Ha funny that, I have just ordered some lilac Santiago bases so I could see the difference between them and the original SSG bases, there appears to be a sudden flurry of lilac teams on e-bay with these "rare" lilac bases appearing. This collecting is a minefield- Though as you say definitely a clu...

Dictover...

...somebody is going to be...you couldn't make it up. If you've ever owned SSG Lilac bases, you'll know the difference between Santiagos and SSG. Hope no one on here has been fooled into it. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/SUBBUTEO-HEAVYWEIGHT-HW-FOOTBALL-TEAM-REF-7-BOX-VERY-RARE-MAUVE-LILAC-BASE-COMBO-/4...

Re: Welcome to the Forum

Hi All. Newbie here. English man from Gloucester here, but bizarrely a Jambo, hence the user name. Played a bit when a boy in the 70s, now reliving youth(midlife crisis?). Also strangely interested in the subbuteo rugby thing, but struggling to find sources of equipment etc not in Italian. Nothing w...

Re: Portuguese Hybrid Teams...

I don't know Mark, I find them quite appealing. Probably because they are handpainted. I also like the box's they came in. Probably the sturdiest of all Subbuteo box's produced. I've also noticed a massive up turn in people collecting OHW's too. I know a few people who prefer them to HW's. I also li...

Portuguese Hybrid Teams...

...anyone else collect them? If so...was there an actually Portuguese Catalogue naming all the sides produced? I can't find one anywhere. The PU site is just as vague...and the Hybrid Greenbox website is all over the place. Plus he's repainted so many it's hard to fathom out what was genuine or not....

Re: Named Aston Villa

I agree, you don't see that many. I would put it as a 3+ in rarity. More in a named box.

Agree about the 'v' neck Steve.

Marks team is a better 'V'.

However...I do like this kit.

Named Aston Villa

Always thought this team was a bit of an oddity. Only mentioned in the SSG Catalogue in this kit colour scheme for one year 1970-71. Actually worn by Villa in 69-70. Doesn't turn up often, but when it does, can come in a multitude of base combo's and in box's from late 60's to mid 70's splash, as ca...

Re: 2013windsurfer1975

Oddly i had a black shorted 20 made up of the best ten players from two sides, listed as such, that sold yesterday to an Italian Ian so i cant work out their mentality mate...never could prob the ONLY side i have ever had to make from two teams, mind you its a rare one, let it go for 39 quid buy it...

Re: Couldnt make this up

Reminds me of when I bought some mint footy programmes from the 50's.

Bloke put a hole punch to them and sent them in a ring binder to keep them from getting creased...wtf!!!!!

Some real 'Special' people out there lol
