Re: OSC OS (Old Subbuteo Club Old Sods)

Thanks for that Adam...great report and photos. Ralph...you'd have loved it. Shame you live so far away. If you were willing to travel, you'd be most welcome. John travelled from Leeds and stayed overnight. It was a brilliant day...in true Oldsubbuteo spirit. Games were played just like Subbuteo was...

When are you doing the Subbuteo meet spudski?
This Sunday up in Worcester. Only an hours drive, same for getting across Bristol these days unfortunately.

Re: Bristol Subbuteo Football Club

I'll second that I thought it was about enjoying the game and playing with whatever bases you like the most. It is indeed and what game you play and under what rules is entirely up to you .. but you seem to have included the S word in your club title ? That's what excited me when I first saw...

Re: Bristol Subbuteo Football Club

Wouldn't be for me...all for having fun and enjoying Subbuteo, but it would be like saying... 'lets play Snooker, then adding billiards and Pool into the mix.' And as soon as I see 'cattle branding equipment' hovering around in the 6 yard box, it makes my blood boil lol. Add that, to a highly polish...

Re: REF 77 WITH SOCK TRIM....

This will put the cat amongst the pigeons...I've had two ref 249's painted exactly this way...in the lighter colour, rather than the traditional laval colours. One was on the same base combo, another was on claret and black. Without it coming in the box it was produced in, I guess you'll never know ...

Re: Oldsubbuteo Rules...

Having to play against the cat at this morning. He hits the ball well, but has a tendency to eat the playing figures!

Re: Oldsubbuteo Rules...

Made a mess of editing that long post .. in questioning fun I was kind of asking how someone not used to playing the serious types enjoys playing against them ? Do they find it off-putting . The last event was supposed to be a themed OS event but certain folk decided it was an "open" .. to my mind ...

Re: Oldsubbuteo Rules...

I know that some in the new Bristol Club are returning players, such as Aaaron Skinner, lovely lad, I knew him in the 80's and 90's on the subbuteo circuit, he wants to play seriously, hence hes playing FISTF. There is an issue, in that any new or returning player has nowhere to turn to other that ...

Re: Most spent on a team?

As long as it makes you happy, who cares....that's my motto. If you can afford it, why not. Many people spend that on drugs, booze, fags, women, meals out, hiss ups, concerts, football and don't get the same thrill as owning or having something that you are really passionate about. Enjoy....money we...

Re: The flatter 2017 Subbuteo bases

Swap the word football for Subbuteo, and 'Agents' for FISTF and it's equipment, and you'll get the same message as to how it's ruined Subbuteo Clubs.

Re: Oldsubbuteo Rules...

Nice one spud Os rules! Get down to Adams some time mate...hoping to make it a regular thing. A few of us are wanting to play Subbuteo, and even some newbies who are collectors wanting to take it up. Also I agree with Ralph....wouldn't wish anyone having Cotts as manager...a complete nightmare for ...

Re: Oldsubbuteo Rules...

Nice one Spud :thumleft: Cheers fella...looking forward to playing next weekend. It would be good to agree on a set ... there are several small differences between the advanced set and the OS rules and after some thought particularly around the idea of encouraging returning or new players I'd have ...
