Re: What team is this?

I thought that too Ian...first instinct was Inter...but on white plastic and blue and white base?...so that put me off that idea. I think we'll never know tbh.

Re: What team is this?

The French distributors often did teams not shown in our catalogues, so could be a French club side from 40 years ago
Or it seems from their own Catalogues Paul...can't find it in any Delacoste catalogue. Saying that...I've picked up some weird and wonderful teams from France and Germany.

Re: What team is this?

Who knows Number 9...I considered that it maybe an overpainted team...ie the black paint added...but with brown boots and hair that doesn't make sense, so I guess it was intentionally painted this way. As to what they are meant to be is anyone's guess...

Re: What team is this?

Makes sense. The others could be a 239 with a lot of paint. Might be worth a quick dab with a damp cloth to check if it's poster paint.
I don't have the teams Pete...saw the pics on a French auction and it took my eye as it looked genuine to me.

Think the bottom left player is a ref 251 Pete.

What team is this?

Any thoughts on what team this is meant to be? Found on French site. 1 player missing with other Delacoste box's...all mixed up.

Looks like an Inter without stripes...but on all white plastic and blue/white base combo? I have no idea on this one.

Re: Motherwell from Subbuteoworld

No you are totally correct to assume it....and some simple box marking for many similar kits using diff coloured bases to indicate diff teams would have surely increased sales but no....way too simple I think in later life they caught up in lw form by issuing a zillion diff teams that i have minima...

Re: Motherwell from Subbuteoworld

Brilliant Ralph...lol...and there was me thinking I'd found another kit haha...cheers for the clarification fella ;-) As for the ref 168 on different coloured bases. It does make you wonder whether there was actually some thought process by SSG employees, as to what base combo to create for an all y...

Re: Motherwell from Subbuteoworld

Ref 168 was also Bradford City, so on that claret and yellow base combo could easily represent this team from 1974. Lovely teams btw.

Re: Motherwell from Subbuteoworld

Motherwell, it seemed had a right mixed bag of kits during the 70's...often mixing and matching shorts and socks with both home and away shirts...which I think that first pic and your gorgeous painted team has Mark...ie away socks. There are a few kits that they played in, that don't seem to be docu...

Re: Black shorts

I would have done what Alberto suggested Chris...you often find ref 77 teams and others with 'glossy' black shorts. Nothing to do with painting over...just outworkers not stirring the pot properly. A case of someone trying it on, or uneducated. I'm finding more and more teams painted over as well by...

Re: World Cup hw box labels x 16 Set repro

Nail on head...exactly Mark. Speaking to collectors, everyone is different, or so it seems. We each have our own nuances. Right now, I don't have the space to have my Subbuteo collection how I want it. It's all in storage. I occasionally get to rummage. However...I get the buzz from the hunt, rather...

Re: World Cup hw box labels x 16 Set repro

Makes total sense Mark...that way you can enjoy both hobbies.
and also not have the burden of cost on my shoulders, though these cars are costing a bomb put together.. :?
I should imagine it's more costly collecting Scalextric, is it not Mark, or am I barking up the wrong tree?
