Re: 1973 Reps report re ordering teams etc

A story I was told about how astute a businessman he was, was that a big shop had put Super Striker next to their Subbuteo display, George asked them to move it away or no more Subbuteo, it was moved. He was Geoffrey not George, Lloydie! Didn't notice that before! :lol!: George was George Underwood...

Re: 1973 Reps report re ordering teams etc

George Samson one of the giants of Subbuteo back in the day ...also my Godfather. Remember quite clearly, and it was always on a Monday, after being at the office GCS and PAA would come back across to our home in Langton and have six o clock sherries!!! Very civilised. I always found Sammy a bit in...

Re: HW Catalogue

Looks quite nice tbh. It's not trying to deceive anyone or pass itself off as genuine...of course it's not a SUBBUTEO original, but that doesn't mean its not worth having imo. [/quote It is a good effort Mark, but it is photocopied so therefore the quality is not great on the pics etc Sorry lloydie...

Haven't watched that in ages! Find it hard watching tbh for obvious reasons even though he only had a few minutes screen time.

Re: ‘NEW LUTON’...

I think that neckline was by design because every example of that variation I have seen has the oversized V collar. Same with the Villa 74 and United 100 teams. And the Haiti 175 variant before I forget. Not every Kent Housewife skills were lacking. I know they weren't....I knew the best of them! J...

Re: ‘NEW LUTON’...

Sorry Mark cannot remember! A pittance probably!!! Having said that, painting was better paid than the sticking. Ref 21 was not paid as much for painting as others obviously as I recall.

Re: ‘NEW LUTON’...

I've never got my head around why SSG tried to replicate the collared shirt with a huge 'v' at the neck. And why they chose to do it on some teams and not others with collars. If you were a Kent Housewife trying to paint 100's of those Luton's with 'V' and stripes to side, every day, you would have...

Re: ‘NEW LUTON’...

....and those black "bibs". They should be a subtle v shape on the neckline of course. The painter should have been sacked off.
