Re: Paul Lamond pitch good alternative for seventies felt pi

No alternative! A few weeks ago I could test such a Paul Lamond Sub pitch BUT its NOT great for playing Classic Subbuteo. Its different in material to a baize pitch, pretty well for gliding long distances But not for curling. So if you want to play Old School Subbuteo the best choice is: a baize pit...

Re: ONE TO BLOCK

Very interesting infos and discussion, mates! But I do not understand one point: if sending international signed for or tracked service to Italy (or other countries) don´t you have the possibility to check via sending number if the packet has arrived? And if officially arrived, and you send this inf...

Re: Some Victorian kits

Hello Chris, no problem, I understand the reasons why, and its always a question of your personal taste.

Re: Some Victorian kits

Well, of course it´s a question of personal taste - but I would prefer a vintage look which is more close to reality, so no shiny colours, matt, maybe with a dirty effect.

Re: Some Victorian kits

Excellent painting as ever!
But for my taste the colours are to fresh, to shiny, not "dirty" enough - keeping in mind that the teams should be Victorians one. I would use matter colours to give the teams the vintage effect.
I would not use the same type of colours as painting modern teams.

Re: The Maidenhead Old Subbuteo Festival 21st/22nd March 201

If people want to carp about the work & organisation that Jon Rosten & Co. put into it they should try arranging their own alternative & see if it's any better. Agree absolutely!! And Maidenhead is Maidenhead not an FISTF tournament as in Cardiff or anywhere else! So there is no reason, no good arg...

Re: Is Subbuteo REALLY Just a Toy, Or...

Don't think it was ever just a toy. Surely it's a game, and some games are sports. Yep, thats it! So today we have two parties of the game - the Vikings of Classic Subbuteo :viking: , playing old style, with a special spirit and a lot of sophisticated discussions :lol!: and a lot of beer :guiness: ...

Re: The Maidenhead Old Subbuteo Festival 21st/22nd March 201

Interesting infos, Ralph! What I can say additionally is: I attented two Old Subbuteo tournaments, 2011 in Ely and 2014 in Maidenhead - both events were really GREAT ! I enjoyed the whole events and it was a pleasure to attend. A lot of things were really good: +++ the spirit and the atmosphere of t...

Re: The Maidenhead Old Subbuteo Festival 21st/22nd March 201

They had a club called South England Lionhearts .. you would have to ask them what happened to it ... Yep, what happened with them? the way forward is for clubs in the UK to come together and share facilities / tables ... YES!! but guess what whenever it's been mentioned support or interest from th...
