Re: Classic Repaints

I have to admit that I do not always find it easy to spot repaints. The boots on these look suspect to me. What else gives these away in your opinion?

Re: STADIUM OF ALEMANNIA AACHEN

The close ups are great. Love the boxes at the back of the stand and the block walls. Has inspired me to start building

Re: Munich Set

Yes thats the one. The box is in great condition and just shows how much this adds to the value. I agree that the price is a bit crazy compared to other items and I would not pay it.

Re: Interesting Bunch o' Dudes

Looks like it was a 70's Southampton or Sheffield Utd as the socks appear to have been red and also the collars. Not sure what it has been changed too.

Re: STADIUM OF ALEMANNIA AACHEN

A lovely authentic looking stadium. I prefer this one to many of the larger more modern stadiums. Seems to have a bit more character.

Munich Set

A Munich set sold on Ebay this afternoon for £670. One light broken on the scoreboard, one reflector and hood missing on the floodlights and the Italy team missing. The box and contents otherwise looked in good condition. Not sure what the going rate for this set is but £670 seems a huge amount.

Re: CHARLES STADDEN DESIGNED FIGURES FOR SCALEXTRIC

There is a piece on Charlie Stadden in the Flick to Kick book by Daniel Tatarsky which is worth picking up if anyone has not seen it. Includes nice photo of him with one of Subbuteo's first moulding machines.

Re: 1950's Flats

Thanks for that Cockney the photo's look great. I think these should be called the Dynasty Cellys.

Just looked in the old Price Lists and see that the cellys were originally only available in refs 1-18. The 1950/51 lists states that refs 19 - 24 will be available from 1st November.

Re: 1950's Flats

Thanks for your comments, it seems that the square shoulder celly ones are all at least pre 1955. I looked on Peter Upton's site and a few others but no dates are given for the square shoulder flats, only comment is that they were earlier. I new that Cockney would have some but as he only has a few ...

1950's Flats

Can anyone tell me when the square shouldered flats were replaced by the round shouldered. I have a 1950's box set around 1956/7 which has the round shoulders and wonder if these are the right type for the set. I expect the answer will be that the set could have come with either. Any comments welcome.

Re: Subbuteo M&S

Looks quite a nice set. like the player figure printed on the pitch. See there is an error in the 'Defending' rules
