Re: Restoration and fixing up projects

Cheers guys.

Next up is an overpainted Ref 10. I decided that I didn't want to waste time and effort on a common ref (when I've already got two of them in good condition). Instead, I decided to strip and paint up as a Ref 69 - replacing the keeper and box.

Restoration and fixing up projects

I've recently been buying up repainted / poor condition teams with the aim of restoring them to their former glory, or (where beyond restoration, or if I already have that team) repainted as rare teams to fill up those blanks in my own personal collection. First up is a Middlesbrough HW Ref 171 that...

Re: Stadium update

I'm looking at ways of extending my playing surface, either by using a full size cloth, Subby astro - or making one myself. Only problem I have is the ground is hemmed in by the railway tracks. It's not an ideal situation making these changes as my stadium is fairly developed. However, after a few n...

Re: Not subby. This is going to take some research!!

I come across a few of these through work. Judging by the age of the players (mascot excluded) it's probably a University/ hospital departmental team.

Going to sound like a really daft question but, is therer any writing or stamp on the back (i.e. names of players, or commercial photographers stamp)?

Hi mate, That's the cloth size. The playing area is about 90 X 60cm

Gutted I never improved my offer when you were selling these - the missus would have killed me though!

Looks like a fantastic project - can't wait to see the pics...

Re: Stadium update

Cheers fellas, The pitch is a Zeugo Compact and about 110 x 70 cm. Lovely to play on, but looks a bit too modern for the ground. I'll eventually replace it with a home made one that'll hopefully look a bit more authentic. As for the size, I didn't have enough space for a full-size and the railway la...

Stadium update

I haven't updated in ages, but the time off at Christmas gave me the chance to get back up on the loft and do a bit of work. I was never totally happy with the original main stand, so I pulled it down and used Subbuteo terraces with a wooden cantilever stand. I'm nor sure about the lighting - I just...

Re: From 30 years ago - part 2

Lovely stuff. It really makes me regret binning all my 'files' when I thought I'd grown out of Subbuteo.

Love the European Cup results. Straight knockout - none of that group stage nonsense we have to endure these days.
