Collecting lw’s ct100 or 63000?

Postby Flick » 14 Jul 2018, 06:39

I have decided to start collecting lightweight teams but can’t secide if to collect the 63000 range or ct100 range.

Does anyone now how many teams there are in either range and which range is harder or dearer to collect?

Finally is there any book, catalogue or poster That lists either range?

Thanks

I think that's an almost impossible question to answer as there are many factors to consider.
I started growing my sons collection of about 150 teams. He got his first teams around 1986 and they were the teams in the a5 baize boxes. Then in around 1990 Subutteo introduced the "John Jensen " boxes.
My initial aim was to get all teams from a particular year in John Jensen boxes but I soon discovered that some teams although in the catalogues were never issued in John Jensen boxes.
There are 830 reference numbers although 830 milwall was never issued. Some of those reference numbers were issued more than once for different kits.
There are a great number of references which are available in a number of different boxes.
As for costs I think there is little difference. Common teams like man Utd can be picked up for less than £10 in any box and rarer teams can go for over £150.
Hope that's helpful

Don't think there is a book that details every kit however a good website is http://www.mingardo.it/Start%20Galleria.htm
And http://www.mingardo.it/Rating%20LW.htm
You can also pick up old catalogues for a few pounds on eBay.
