What goals do you recommend?

Post by CrashSubb » 22 Sep 2018, 10:18

Hello, once again,

In January of this year, I bought some goals from Subbuteo World (those blue ones)
When it arrived, I opened the box, tried to assemble without the net. Tried to take off the goal post, and it broke.
Tried to glue that, but it didn't work.
Now, today, I was doing a match with my sister, and it broke somehow again on the goal bar.

What goals do you recommend for replacing these ones?
Thanks,
Crash

Got to agree with Zulu.

They aren't cheap but are fantastic. £40 for the Tournament set. Obviously more durable than plastic.

Of the original Subbuteo ones I have always liked the C130 World Cup goals but these are prone to bending if you have the nets tight.

I was thinking on buying the Tournament ones.
But then I went to Astrobase, and they have there a lot of types to choose from
Are Astrobase goals good (especially the Lisboa ones, they look amazing)

Thanks,
Crash

Plastic goals are no good for playing.

Metal goals are the thing. :thumright:

You're better off with the metal goals, Crash.
They're almost unbreakable; which is exactly what you need, judging by the amount of destruction that occurs when you and your sister have a game of subby.

The goal broke out of nowhere :lol!:
I still have my Paul Lamond goals, and they have 3 years, so its strange that the Pegasus ones broke

Well, I will use metal goals.

Thanks,

Nothing wrong with playing with plastic goals.

Sure, the modern metal goals are stronger but they also have a tendency to break your playing figures!

Heavy metal for me, Mark.

Much better for the environment.

Perhaps I was very lucky, as when I returned to the game, SubbuteoWorld had a pair of original and immaculate NN metal goals, which have become my all-time favourites, as they look good and the ball never rebounds out of them.

Must add that if Pegasus ever produce modern NN metal goals, I would give them a try.
