york

Post by caffer » 23 Oct 2014, 16:46

I collect other toys and a woman on a forum i go on has said she's dumped a load of subby at one of the charity shops in York. She thinks it's British heart foundation one. She said it was fair amount. Just thought I'd give a heads up if anyone lives that way.

Not sure. She had cleared out a garage full of old toys and it was full- crate after crate of stuff. It looked to me like there was at least 3 crates of subby. I just saw some green boxes and asked if it was Subbuteo. It was the one thing she didn't know much about so she got rid!!!

hiss she got rid. Out of about 100 crates it was the only stuff she got rid of even though people on there know I collect it. Oh well any large amounts of stuff on eBay from Sellers in York will show what exactly was there!

I pooped into the BHF shops in York the other day. All that was there was a 9 man LW Sheff U home.

I'd imagine as it's a national charity all the items of potential value are sent to the "centre" to allow value maximisation rather than getting a £200 HW marked up for a fiver in the local store by some unsuspecting volunteer - presumably there are a number of collectors/traders who pick those items up.
Only the following to go for a 1-100 full house:

20,22,24,29,32,35,36,38,44,46,61,
62,70,71,72,75,80,83,84,86,87,
88,89,91,92,93,94,95,96,97,98,99

I donate on a regular basis to the BHF and I can confirm that anything that looks high ticket gets sent to the main hub for listing on eBay under the shops own reference number so the final total can be credited to the shops sales. The Boston store had a club edition with a few accessories least year and when I saw them and mentioned them the manager told me they were earmarked for send to the centre for an online sale.

Picked up a few lightweights the other week in a local charity shop for a tenner, a club edition and 3 Hasbro teams plus a scoreboard, corner kickers, dugout set and fence....nothing startling but its rude not to! Also get an old 80's club edition on Facebook on the local selling page when I bought a load of cards this weekend, again nothing startling but there was a LW QPR, a Liverpool and a Spurs all complete, the set just needed the corner flags adding.......a fiver for over 1,000 cards and a Box of Subby......happy days!
