Stamps

Postby lionofludesch » 20 Apr 2017, 15:33

I see Royal Mail are bringing out some stamps showing "Classic Toys" in August.

Wonder if Subbuteo is going to be on there ?

Obviously, now that the Germans own Royal Mail, they could go for Tippkick.

So - if you were choosing say, six toys, what would you choose ?

No Subby - too obvious .....

Good choices.

I'd definitely have gone for Hornby and Scalextric. Maybe not Meccano as it was part of the same stable as Hornby.

Monopoly or Cluedo ? They're classics. Probably a girl's toy's going to be in there, some doll or other. Britains model soldiers maybe.

Airfix, Dinky (or Matchbox or Corgi) and Action Man are all decent bets.

Yes - it'll be interesting to see what RM come up with in a few months time.

Lego, Subbuteo, Action Man, Meccano, Scaletrix, Rubik's Cube
Lego and Rubik's Cube are ineligible, being Danish and Hungarian respectively.

Denmark isn't in the UK although, strangely, part of the UK used to be in Denmark. :|

Obviously the Royal Mail doesn't know what is in all those thousands of packages they cart around every day. Perhaps they think they are boxes of Fuzzy Felts.
