Reference site screwed...

Postby spudski » 06 Aug 2017, 15:57

....thanks to photobucket.

All that time and effort by collectors.

I can imagine lots of collectors forums have been screwed over as well.

Yep killed a lot of sites that were "fan" based", where people wanted to post memorabilia or just simply pictures of days out.
I suppose you can understand it a little from Photobucket's point of view. A lot of links to pictures costing them bandwidth and nobody actually visiting the actual site. I'm surprised they didn't do it years ago. Still, I can't imagine it will generate tons of revenue for them, most people will find other methods.
Current spares: Brescia x2 light blue inner, white outer, PMs please if you can help.

I just save them on my computer now, and then convert on to an external hardrive. That way you are in control of them. Surely the revenue in adverts Photobucket make should suffice.

But like I said Spud, linking a picture generated absolutely no revenue as you never visited their site. It is/was a broken Internet business model.
