There were two boxes of the ref 46 but unfortunately the other one has one bad break and two weak ankles...if anyone has any spares or wants to make an offer for the team please drop me a pm.
Cheers

Yes...I was very happy. Unfortunately the 117 isn’t reffed but still a nice find.
I’m starting to get into HP lightweights at the moment and this is quite a good find too.

Superb!
I've always liked the HW117 kit and while I much prefer the HP LWs to the machine paints, I have to draw the line at collecting somewhere which means I've never allowed myself to do down the LW route.

I know what you mean ...rapidly running out of room.....and money.
I should really focus on one thing but I’m a bit of a hoarder and just grab what I can.
Some rationalisation in the next few months I think !

Same for me. I am exclusively classic HW. If I pick up a LW or even a OHW in a joblot I move them on. The temptation to collect is too great. Though i identify with HW far more as that is my era. Once the Zombie and LW's came in the late 70's i bought a couple but didnt like them and stopped.

HW's are so diverse they alone are more than enough to collect. All teams have variations .. base combos, flesh or white plastic figures, variations to painting, box types ...even the size of the subbuteo lettering on the inners........I have up to a dozen or more of some team refs..all slightly different.

like you say Ian you have to draw the line somewhere.

oh btw ....very very nice teams Bellcher.

I'm glad I'm not the only 'crazy horse' in town!

I was working through some of my HW collection last night - and reminded myself of the lunacy of collecting "up to a dozen or more of some team refs – all slightly different."

Even worse, I'm not of the mind to shift these on just yet ... .

I have the same issues as well.....I SHOULD really unload my 400+ l/w teams and concentrate on the h/w variety but I can’t! I also have a load of box sets that just sit in a cupboard gathering dust...cant bear to get rid of them either.
Is there a point when a hobby becomes an obsession?

I couldnt get rid of 400+ teams...couldnt bring myself to. All that time and effort to collect them in the first place. Am I obsessed?? No I would describe myself as very keen enthusiast. I do however have a pretty strict limit on my spending. I cant think I have ever spent more than £30-£40 on an individual team.

Lol. You are not alone Ian. And I am quite sure there are others out there (and on this forum).

A couple of months ago i was sorting out my teams. I think i have about 18 Brazils for example. Yellow/Green bases....Green/Yellow bases ......Blue/Yellow bases...yellow/Blue bases......blue/green bases.......yellow/white bases......green/white bases......white/green bases. Long splash Boxes....short splash boxes....60's white box....World Cup sticker box...early 70's long box.....late 70's window box.....white socks....yellow socks.....white plastic..painted flesh plastic....small lettering..large lettering...and combinations of the above!!

This is perfectly normal behaviour, Ian. An excellent example of the collecting gene at work. :D

That’s part of the problem...I don’t think I’ll ever sell them.
I also try not to spend much on teams...the real fun is finding a bargain.

If you can sell one you can sell them all, down to my last 25 or so hws
The money funded the Scalextric purchases, they too will go one day...that's how it is.

do i miss my hws?..no not one bit, they weren't getting used.
My cars all get restored and spun round...its been like changing wives

The different base combos were an obvious step in the collecting. But i find now I am purchasing otherwise identical teams who's only difference is the lettering font or that it comes in a different box.........i think i need therapy
