Stadium Edition Boxset

Post by Grandad » 17 May 2018, 07:37

Some months ago at a toy fair I bought a Stadium Edition Boxset - an impressive 3 tiered 1977/78 1st edition with card trays (it was followed by polystyrene trays). The actual box is very good, the contents are (I think) complete, and undamaged!Including a grandstand, 3 HW teams, Holland, Germany & England, plus all the items you get in the 2 tiered World Cup boxes - an amazing buy I thought. But the middle and top card trays are missing, so not easy to show/display/look at!! - with bubble wrap in between the thin card layers only.
Any suggestions (polite ones) as to what to do with it would be welcome. I shall bring it to Subbuteo Fair at Renishaw this Sunday in case anyone is interested in having a look, or even buying it. ( I know I could just 'break it up' and keep/sell the individual items, but that seems a shame).

HI Jeff, I am sure you would get a decent price for it, it is a set the Italians go mad for, so might be worth a punt on ebay

Thanks Paul, but don't fancy trying to package it for Italy or anywhere to be honest! Look forward to seeing you at Renishaw?

Courier costs are much more reasonable for bulky items / heavier than 2kg, compared to Royal Mail. I think I used "Parcel Pete" last time, who get UPS to do the donkey work for them.
The websites give you a cost based on dimensions and weight ( and destination, of course)
For a 5kg parcel to Italy, you'd get change out if £25, if my memory serves me rightly. Chris

It was actually Parcel Hero. 4.7kg to Italy was £22 including VAT.

Thanks for all the info. Will definitely bring it to Renishaw and see what people think. I''ll probably try and sell it, as I'm trying to concentrate on collecting HW teams now, and have accumulated other football boxsets, plus rugby and cricket sets too, which I really should move on!
