Unglueing bases

Post by Texhorse » 02 Jun 2018, 21:17

Hi guys

I'm a guy coming out of retirement to play in my first league for a long time, and have just converted a team to more modern bases. Unfortunately I superglued the new bases and the figures in without putting any weight in.

Does anyone have any tips on how to get the bases and figures apart again after using superglue? I realise it's a long shot (excuse the pun), but hoped someone may have found themselves in similar circumstances.

superglue actually melts the plastic, so i don't think it is possible, maybe a scalpel, but it'll be a mess.

my advice....chalk it up as lost, also there's no need to ever use superglue in bases, use a white water based glue like modge podge or a glue for leather, both wash away in hot water without damaging your bases/figures, and you can also just wipe away the excess with a damp cloth.

I thought that might be the case. Thank you for the answer, even if it's not the one I wanted!

Apparently acetone (nail varnish remover) can work.
Current spares: Brescia x2 light blue inner, white outer, PMs please if you can help.
