Mounting rubber backed Astro

Post by Jambocb » 29 Nov 2018, 14:30

Hi folks,

I've searched the forum and know similar has been asked a few times. What are everyones opinion on mounting the Pegasus rubber backed astro pitch? I've got the pitch already and also have a sheet of MDF cut to size. I think i'll see how it goes just rolling the pitch onto the board, however if i decide to mount it to the MDF permanently what would be the best adhesive to use?

I've seen the following mentioned so far: wallpaper paster, PVA glue, contact adhesive....

Any help would be really be appreciated

I used tiling glue to mount my astros. Spread it very thinly on the board, lay the pitch, roll it as smoothly as you can and then leave it overnight with another board on top of the whole surface. Put plenty of heavy books or something similar on top of that board. This worked perfectly for both my astros. Hope this helps.

Pva worked for me. Water it down slightly, spread it evenly and apply weight to flatten it down.
