Welcome BR - it sounds as though your view of the game is similar to mine - good to hear!

Welcome to the forum ... Lancashire CCC and solo league using NNs ... FFs and the older rules ... What an eminently sensible chap ... and you live in County Durham one of my favourite counties ... a most excellent set of circumstances !

Thank you very much, gentlemen. Your replies are much appreciated.
Although I'm happy in County Durham nowadays, I'm fiercely loyal to my Lancashire roots.

Thank you. There is much here that I have already found interesting, informative and helpful. Hopefully, in the future, some of my contributions may provide similar assistance to others.

Good evening,
I played Subbuteo in the late 60's early 70's.
I can vividly remember my father buying me a Newport County team
tangerine and white (ref 13 I think) for 50p just after decimalization in 1971.
This was the first ever actual 50p purchase I made !!!
My favourite team had to be Inter Milan (black/blue stripes).
I played Subbuteo cricket and rugby also.
Not sure if I will start to collect, but its fun finding out about it again.
I picked up a few sets recently and maybe I can get some help on identification
of some colours I can't reference.

Regards

Welcome in Del :)

That bit's easy - head over to Peter Upton's site and either search by reference number, look through the pictures depending on the style of player (heavy, light, zombie, etc) or use the club/nation database there : http://www.peter-upton.co.uk/sub12.htm

Great site.
Great hobby.
Great forum.

Have fun !

Welcome Delboy57.
Until decimalisation in 1971 many teams were sold for 9/11 and you see countless examples of this price written on the end of boxes. After 1971 it was common to round this up to 50p. Good way of dating teams is by the price charged.
A discussion is an exchange of knowledge, an argument is an exchange of ignorance.

Morning all,

New to the forum, found my old subbuteo in my parents attic. Found this site throug Google and really enjoyed the posts and photos and I've been inspired to get going again.

I started playing in the late 90's with a floodlight set and collected a few prem and international teams.

Already picked a few bits through eBay. New teams and an astropitch.

Looking forward to getting more into it.

Cheers Shep

Wednesday fan from North Yorkshire

Hello everybody, my name is Mirco. I live in Florence and like you all I have a big passion for Subbuteo. Since 30 years I play Subbuteo and now my dream is to pass down this passion to my son and to my two grandchildren. Another dream is to complete my collection of OHW and I hope that somebody of you can help me. I'm organising myself to come to England to play a tournament.
Nice play everybody,
Mirco :G
