The Bad Manners album is pretty crap tbh, against say Selecters first lp, or even, God forbid, the first Madness lp.
The first Specials lp although having good songs is a mismatch of recordings and that alone makes it a bit dudd for me.
More Specials was better.
The Beats first album was fantastic i thought, and still do.
Great picture btw.

see a lot of reissue ska stuff coming out on 180 now :!:

fact too, cds take up more room on a shelf that vinyl for width, not height obv

I just found this...

Records were never a dead format, the only dwindled in popularity because record companies wanted to push the cd format. You simply couldn't buy them anymore.

I have that Blancmange album too & used to listen to it a lot. I saw them live in Plymouth at the time whilst studying at the Poly - a great night.

I've been on a MORRISSEY and smiths trip lately...no surprise there tbh.

However also been enjoying BLANCMANGE - MANGE TOUT. Side 2 is ordinary but Side 1, has got to be one of the best sides from the 80s. I'm talking vinyl obv

Been listening to "The Stone Roses" a lot recently.

There's also a northern soul cd (the soundtrack of the recently released northern soul fim) that's worth checking out. Got some top sounds on there. There's not usually so many good songs on one package. Most northern cds are a bit hit and miss.

Not listening to anything right now as I'm at work but before I left home I was listening to the first Crosby, Stills & Nash album.
