Peel called them The Mighty Fall...miss that guy like a brother :(
Just met up with some mates I haven't seen for years. One is a big fan of The Fall.

On this occasion we went to see Elvis Costello at Birmingham Symphony Hall. Wasn't a massive fan so not expecting much but he completely blew me away. A guitar & piano virtuoso with a voice like Golden Syrup. It was just Elvis and no one else, apart from occasional backing vocals from his brother Ronan.

Couldn't believe how many tracks I remembered: Accidents Will Happen; Girls Talk (originally with Nick Lowe, I think); Oliver's Army, Alison, Pump It Up.

So the one who's a fan of The Fall says next time we meet up will be in Leeds to watch The Mighty Fall

Happy Days 8)
Girls Talk originally a b side on 2 Tone, worth a small bomb..
ah, The Fall, just SO good beyond words...Smithy likes a drink so try to catch them on a good night

Been listening to U2 latest album in the car. Tried not to like it but failed. A few very good tunes on there.

Lou Reed Live in Italy. Double album from 1984. He was often hit and miss with live performances but this one was awesome.
