I spotted the West Ham in Europe clip a few months ago...really really funny

I read a good biography a year or so back written by Spike Milligan's agent. In the late 60s Spike, Galton and Simpson (the 2 blokes who wrote Steptoe), Eric Sykes and Tony Speight (the bloke who wrote Til Death us do Part) - plus one or two other comedy writers (Frankie Howerd I think was one) who I cant recall for the moment - were all sharing the same office in London. The main focus was on Spike, but it gave an interesting insight into what was going on in terms of the other writers and the stuff they were doing, and how all these writers used to feed and bounce off each other.

This was basically THE classic period in British TV comedy. It's all been downhill since :morning:

It was indeed a classic comedy era - love all the old stuff - Hancock being my favourite particulary the Radio show (not that I remember to original broadcasts).

Here's another classic Alf taking his grandson to see the Hammers - only big Ron would come out with the bare feet line these days ...
