Inxs did our student union gig in late 1981 just as they were starting to get airplay...they were great live, I was crushed up against the stage (no seats, it was in a pub) so had a good vew of Hutchence's histrionics...

I thought The Loved One was their best early song (albeit a cover of an Aussie 60s classic)

I was more a Midnight Oil fan in those days...now Peter Garrett has gone from being angry singer to a useless fcuking minister in the Australian Govt

Hutch was a legend...
I loved that band.
Seen em loads of times live...They were so good live.
It was always a SHOW...
It's not the same with JD Fortune...he had big boots to fill.

Anybody heard of a band called King Swamp?
Brilliant live.
They only had two albums, lyrically brilliant & the guitarist went onto be in Stings band.
They played Rock/Blues

Yeah found a link...but probably their worst track ever...http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RGGD-u3k ... re=related

Spudder, I swear, we really are surfing the same wave ;-) Great selection as usual. I quite like Jim's and Umby's, too.

Umberto, is that Running Up The Hill a cover of the Kate Bush classic?

I set an impossible challenge didn't i? I've managed to get mine down to my top three, and I wince when I think of all the fabulous, amazing, moving, drop-dead songs I've had to leave out. But here mine are. Most who've posted on this thread have really good taste, so if you've never heard of any of my three, give them a whirl on the youtube links.

OK - a slight diversion from fav song of all time

I was giving my twelve year daughter a full blast of KLF earlier in the car. She had that look on her face which said - your not only balding, overweight but you've got no taste in music.

Anyway, anybody who questions the bird in this video needs help
