I had one called Casdon Soccer I think.
It was pretty frantic stuff.
Good game.
Twiddled a couple of knobs by the corner flags and the players hit the ball with a paddle thing on their base.

Not a live-action type game like the ones Zuluman listed but a classic in my book was Soccer Manager by Capri.
Hours of important decisions to be made, we loved it!
"E I E I E I O Up the football league we go!"
Who can remember the four team names?
I think one was Westhampton Wanderers if my memory serves me correctly?

I had the Casdon one - or one like it...but it was named after Kenny Dalglish. Anyone remember that?

I used to love this game. I've still got a couple of sets.

Believe it or not, a mate and I still play this at the pub every Friday lunch-time. It's strangely engrossing. What I like most about it is how varied it is - you can play a 0-0 draw, followed by a 6-3, followed by 2-1 etc. The game was later relaunched at least a couple of times under different names.

I had the Bobby Charlton Casdon version, which means that I'm approximately 10 years older
than anybody that had the Kenny Dalglish version ;-)
Used to love this game. They don't make 'em like this anymore. In the 60's and the 70's, when
it came to toys and games, there always seemed to be a lot of imagination and
innovation. Sadly lacking, these days.

Penalty (by Pepys) was another ace game. It's got that 'one more game' addictive quality to it.
