Discussion about table football games other than those listed above
1 post • Page 1 of 1
Just bought a copy of a game called StanMath which originally came out in the '40s and '50s, in two distinct versions known as Mark One and Mark Two. As the name implies it was endorsed by Stanley Matthews. It looks fairly similar to other counter-based, tiddlywinks style games like Shoot and Waddington's but plays very differently. You actually use a mixture of tiddly and subbuteo-style flicking to move the players and ball about, and once you get to grips with it the action is fast, furious and challenging. To play it well needs a great deal of skill. Has anyone else either got this game or come across it? I've been in touch with the son of the original inventor of the game who hopes to relaunch a modernised version across Europe soon. Not entirely convinced it'll be marketable in this day and age, but it deserves to b as it's one of the best football games other than subbuteo I've ever played.
