Burnley 2nd (Special Order)

Finally managed to bag one of these, but at a huge premium (especially with two reglues that I've tidied up a little).

Does anyone know approximately how many of these were originally churned out?

The version with continuous sleeve stripes as opposed to the special order pattern is more common as they were available from two shops in town between 1976 and 1981 , latterly on the zombie figures of course . Still rare in East Lancashire but not as rare as out in the wider world, I know of four surviving sets locally ... all you need now is the Blue one

Good historical pics ... now (hopefully) someone will be able to post a pic of the Burnley Blue kit.
The quest continues .....

Yes ..but there are two versions of the blue kit too ..

Sky shorts and socks bases Blue outers Sky inners ..White shorts Claret socks Blue outers White inners .. You'll never collect everything because none of us will ever know the full extent of what was available in batches of 50 in every 1970s town

Mate...I've got a Subbuteo team with Blue shirt, claret collar and cuffs, white shorts, Claret socks. On blue/white base combo.

Is that a Burnley 2nd then? I had no idea what it was, as it came in an unreffed, and in an unnamed box in a job lot many moons ago.

Just past it off as a home paint on something like a ref 149.

That's a lovely team Ian Brown picked up. Only seen a few in collecting. Nice getting all that glue off too.

It's like this kit.

Expect "Mr Faddes," etc., to 'stumble on' one of these teams soon, then decide he really doesn't need it in his collection; that someone else should swell his bank account through the purchase of a fake.
