Banbury Rovers FC Stadium

Postby BanburyRoversSFC » 01 Oct 2014, 15:40

This is my stadium, obviously its a WIP, and I used an iPad to take the pictures, so they are of low quality, but what do you guys think? Anything I should add? And please vote on the poll.

I realise it's been a while since I last posted! But today I did a few DIY improvements to a ground, very much looking in decline! I've been adding fences to make small little areas for spectators to stand, and putting flags and banners on them to make them look more realistic! Perhaps my favourite of today's additions were the floodlights, made out of some plastic rods I had spare from a set, and some cardboard rectangles for the lights themselves!

Generally had a great time, and the ground is looking so much better than it did this morning, which I (non-regrettably) have no photos of!

I'm also thinking about snapping the players of incomplete teams off their bases, and maybe painting a pair of jeans on, and turning them into 'full time' spectators, for the standing areas. It's seems like a good idea as they really serve no other purpose, because their teams have become incomplete, and I generally play with Zuego now anyway!

Also have some sitting spectators to paint! There's about 100 of them, so it could be some time! But I will mainly be placing them behind the goal, and it should make a huge difference, as there's actually only 16 fans in there at the moment! 116 should look great!

I will try and post these updates when they're ready!

Having a bit of a problem with the paint!!! Nevertheless, here's a couple of the nutters climbing up on the back!

I've also put the rest of the fans I have down, but at the moment they're naked! I need to figure out what's wrong with the paint really...

just paint on some boxers or y-fronts and banbury can be the hardest firm in the country as they always go nude, even better sprinkle some snow on the terraces as these lads are fackin well 'ard. No Stone Island for these boys

Been a while, but this should be the last update for now, as the stadium will undergo major redevelopment work.

To start with, I plan on removing everything from the board, so I can retape the two separate boards together underneath, to keep it looking tidy! Then I will lay down some sort of Tarmac (either painted [unlikely], from sheets, or the very fine gravel stuff) and I will screw the pitch onto the board, again removing the messy tape. I will also probably replace the advertisement boards, with either the old Subbuteo fencing, or the zeugo boards - I need to look into this!

Following this, the ground will be reconstructed back onto the board.

I have bought some floodlights off eBay, to replace the card diy ones (one has already arrived as you can see.) I am in the process of buying stands to replace the temporary standing section of the Fine Lady End (large stand behind the goal). I also plan on rebuilding the back of these stands with something more professional, and the stand may be renamed.

The biggest and most ambitious proposed change is the construction of a new stand along the side of the pitch (opposite the tunnels). While what exactly will go here is still somewhat up in the air at this moment in time (and probably wont be completed in this redevelopment), I have a few plans and ideas.
Firstly, I don't want it to be any taller than the current stand. This level allows for great play, yet isn't too small! I do however want it to go the whole way down the pitch!

What the stand will be made of remains somewhat undecided, but I think the actual terraces will be strong polystyrene, while the back will be made of wood, and the roof, potentially transparent?! Lighting will definitely be added to the stand - a floodlight will go across the roof of the stand, while a dim light should light the terrace itself.

So please, let me know what you think! Any suggestions, warnings, help, and examples, much appreciated!
