Townsend Avenue

Post by Wrightenberg » 11 Jan 2013, 21:10

The wife's decided that our 3rd bedroom should be used as a guest room and not a home for for my Subbuteo stadium - so I've relocated to the loft.

I laid a bit of flooring last week and created a table top, with a generous space for a four sided stadium. Due to the size of the loft, playing is going to be a bit problematic. However, seeing as I mainly use my pitch for solo play and display purposes, it shouldn't be too much of a problem. Besides, I plan to mount a pitch on a separate board for proper games.

Anyway, enough talk, here's some pictures of my relocated ground. It's very much a work in progress at the moment and I'll try to keep you updated with regular photos...

It looks nice and tidy. Well done.

Perhaps you could try and cover the wall behind with light blue wallpaper to resemble the sky.
1 to 100 HW series now completed. :fadein:

All HW national teams references now collected. :D

What should be next?

Class ground. The loft or garage is the place to be. Well away from all the noise! Especially on a Saturday afternoon as you listen to all the footie on the wireless. I recently set up in the garage and its like having my very own clubhouse. :guiness:

I know what you mean - wore a thick fleece and some gloves up there last night. I'll have sort a heater out soon.

Indeed mate - a fantastic match from a great footy era.

Totally agree - had the radio on in the loft last weekend when I was setting up the pitch. FA Cup 3rd round and Subbuteo - it was like being a kid again 8)

I braved the cold weather and got myself back up in the loft this week to do a bit more on the stadium. A couple of days ago, I added some brickwork detail to the back of the East Stand. It looked nice when I did it, but as you can see from the pictures some of it has started to come away and bubble in places (probably the cold??) - so I'll have to re-do it
