glad to be back... subbuteo is in the DNA

Postby axxis26700 » 13 Jan 2014, 15:45

Hi Everyone! After a Loooong long time back here again with a new stadium built.... (excuse my english, in advance)

Always wanted to have something built so it will be easily playable.... and not these plastic subbuteo versions that are unstable and require a long board making play very difficult..

The kids found a box of spectators during christmas that i had well kept untill the day would come.... I had to explain what are these for , so when i did, i had no more excuses..... the work had to start ..... ;-)

thought about it for a couple of days and decided that 8mm plywood pieces is what it is ideal for those lads to be nicely seated like an an original subbuteo stand....

the plan was to make something not so deep, but high enough and at a perfect angle so it doesnt obstruct the arm position and also the touching belly, during play..........

enough said... a nice sunny christmas day was enough for a good start..... enjoy... :D

currenlty i am working on a second tier and a plastic roof, still in absolutelly playable dimensions

its weird, but its not much bigger than a normal board without any stands around... Tested it with my mates and play is absolutelly fantastic... like there were no stands at all!!

Can't wait to paint it and invite people in..... 8)

That is beautifully simple and simply beautiful.

What a great idea. The perfect size, too.

Its very simple.. and if i could do it, anyone can....

I chose a step of 10mm wide so there will be just enough space for the feet and the back of the guy just in front.

if someone wants even less space around the pitch then 8mm is still a good step width and will save many many cm's making it look more modern (high) and ever more fun....

Very nicely done. As you say the Subbuteo stands ideally should have been made a little smaller, thats why I built my own.

Hi everyone....... long time without any work at the stadium..... but yet there is some progress....

Second tier is now done, and now the whole thing can be painted and details, adverts and stuff like that can start taking place.....

Still absolutelly playable, although the second layer can be removed in one move if its needed........ 8) but i payed lots of attention so that the extra construction wouldnt take more space on the vertical axis than the first layer..........

here are some pics.............
