England dominated the first stages but had few chances as Brazil kept a strong back line. A couple of quick breaks from Brazil fortunately ended in weak shots. England kept looking for openings and on 30 minutes Ball burst through from midfield to slot home for a halftime lead. In the second period Brazil breached the England back line on numerous occasions and on 65 minutes Rildo turned Wilson and centred to the waiting Pele who equalised. Brazil continued to dominate and 2 minutes from time Pele was in the clear but Banks saved and cleared up field. The ball fell to Hurst who payed a clever Ball to Peters who let fly past Manga. The crowd erupted and the referee blew for time.

Thanks lads. It was built fairly quickly and therefore not a lot of detail or finesse at this stage. I will add and improve it in time. Just needed to have it ready for the solo World Cup 1966 I'll be playing in the summer.

Excellent stadium, most worthy of staging a World Cup. Very well built.

With reference to the opening friendly match, how much, at today's prices, how much admission would it be worth paying with talent of that quality on view?

Those were the days when watching international matches was something special and the only time you got to see overseas players. Ticket prices were also comparatively low. For the World Cup they issued blocks of 10 tickets, if standing you could see the Final, semi 3rd and 4th place final, quarter final and 6 other matches for a total of £3 17s. 6d. How much would that set you back today?
