Palmerston Park

Postby doonhamer » 13 Apr 2017, 17:08

Been working on this one for a wee while, my first effort at a full stadium, so chose my home town team, in a Scottish Cup tie against Celtic. As I am living in the USA, its been a challenge getting stuff here and a tad more expensive than I told the ever patient wifey, mainly due to shipping charges. Got some great tips and advice by checking back thru the comments in the other stadium posts, gonna give the eyes a break for a little while (painting those guys is hard work!!)
This current stadium is around 3500 capacity, I painted approx 1500, I built the table myself, after a trip to the wood shop.

Excellent work I can appreciate the amount of time you have invested. Also nice and compact so that you can easily play games. I've still got around another 1000 standing supporters to paint up at some point. I just got to a stage when I couldn't face doing any more. lol

I kept the height of the table a bit lower (24 inches) to make it easier to reach over the stands when playing, it is possible to play but you cant play as quick. Best of luck with the last 1000, I was lucky and had blocks of a couple of days where i could get into it a bit. You start to see those guys in your sleep!!!

that looks braw, a good model of Palmerston, pretty accurate. The Zeugo stands do a good job as the new stand, Okay the Terreagles street end should be a wee bit angled but not going to fault you for using Subby terraces. Love the Portland end with the grassy bank behind it. Aye 9.5 out of 10

As with everything that's been created using imagination, passion and skill i congratulate you.

Can appreciate what you say about shipping costs, i get screwed getting stuff sent to Slovakia, most times the post is as much as the item

Great ground i'd fancy a game there.
