It is a good idea making a goalkeeper from lego for a solo game far more easy thean costructing something from wood or other material

Imho, you need something a bit bigger than usual for solo play. I always found a 4-2-4 goalkeeper quite good. It gives a fair balance between attack and defence.

Obviously, 4-2-4 goalkeepers are quite hard to find these days .......

How about some kind of mechanism that works on a power supply with a Subbuteo goalkeeper attached to it? If the mechanism lets the goalkeeper move quite fast from side to side it is hard to score a goal so you have to be precise.

Here's what I use. Basically player on a coin, but I like the extra height.

Good idea but you still have the problem that the goal keeper is loose and can be smashed aside by the ball when you shoot hard. Or is it not?

The screen behind the goalkeeper sticks on the field, so it is sturdy enough to block hard shooting.

Best alternative idea I have seen to the goalie mounted on a coin. If extra weight is needed you could add this to the rod. It looks to me that the shield may be a little too large.

I'd back the goalkeeper anyway with the ball there.

That's what I do Gulls. Got the idea on here, it might have been from yourself. Mount the keeper, in the diving position, on blue tac and a coin. The weight of the coin stops the keeper from moving whenever he makes a save. All this solo talk is making me want to kick off the solo leagues again!
It all kicks off in the Goldstone next week ! Attendances will be up this year with the arrival of another load of fans. All in the back of a lorry from Hong Kong. :O
Love this comment Gullseye ^, the lorry from Hong Kong bit class ;)
