LEGOalkeeper for solo game

Postby Cambuur » 16 Jul 2015, 10:49

Sometimes I like to play a solo game. The problem with the solo game is off-course the goalkeeper. So with the help of Lego, I devised a simple but effective solution. I made a youtube film to explain it https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d6iLBGQiGeY

The following rules can be applied:
1. the Legoalkeeper works together with the reserve goalkeeper
2. the legoalkeeper is placed on the line in the goal, the reserve goalkeeper in front.
3. If the legokeeper hits the ball and the ball stays in the goal area, the goalkeeper has taken possion of the ball, the ball is placed on the goal area and the flicking goalkeeper will bring the ball into the game.
4. if the legoalkeeper hits the ball and the ball stays in the penalty area , the defending team will take ball possession.

Why not hang a C124 target board on the goal. As Ralph says the lego is a monstrosity at least the target board is a subbuteo product.

I have to say thats DIRE. As Ralph mentioned elsewhere, no reason you cant hold a keeper and shoot at the same time. Unless youre playing the slidey glidey game. Which is NOT Subbuteo.

C124 is also a very good option.

The Legoalkeeper can be moved in the goal and the flicking goalkeeper plays a role. And it is a very cheap product as I used the lego of my children.

Enjoy it or hate it.....

Why not just put a bus in the goal, I've heard that a lot of teams do that now. Seriously, there's not a lot of problem shooting and using the goalie at the same time, but I prefer to mount the goalie in the diving position and just position him before shooting. Has always worked well for me.

That's what I do Gulls. Got the idea on here, it might have been from yourself. Mount the keeper, in the diving position, on blue tac and a coin. The weight of the coin stops the keeper from moving whenever he makes a save. All this solo talk is making me want to kick off the solo leagues again!

It all kicks off in the Goldstone next week ! Attendances will be up this year with the arrival of another load of fans. All in the back of a lorry from Hong Kong. :O

Might just be that I've grown accustomed to the monstrosities of the FISTF game, but I think that's fantastic! Alright, it won't win any beauty contests - but I think it's more useful than the Subbuteo training aid.

Looks like Ultraman and Mr. Singa, the Courtesy Lion, are doing the job in Singapore…

why not put a housebrick in front of the goal...

crouching keeper bluetacked to a coin does it for me, move to suit angle of shot...incredibly effective esp when u need to score that one crucial goal

Not thought of the keeper on a coin before!! Simple ideas are normally the best! As I always play with myself (so to speak) I tend to use the keeper as he is but use the back of the stick supported by the goal to position him, he angles quite well and stays there. When the attacking team shoots they must clear the keeper completely to score. If the ball touches the keeper on the way into the back of the net then he has saved it but a corner is awarded! Works well for me. You can score some nice goals by getting the angle right and you can (sometimes) beat the keeper with a powerful shot. The zeugo keepers have a longer stick than the SUBBUTEO ones but I don't find it makes a difference!
