After seeing this on Steves (Number9) excellent Pendle Falcons website, based on the original Subbuteo Pitch markings idea ........... How would the massed defensive lines cope with this ...... surely the ability to ping the ball from slightly furtherout would make a 7.8.9 player lined defence obsolete? So what would be the best formations be to cope with this slightly different but original "shooting line"

I think the major problem with the original curved line was that it makes route 1 the best option - whatever the defensive strategy. It just seems too tempting, which is why I guess it didn't last very long!

Most goals are scoring from a position an inch or two inside the shooting line.

The best defence would still be a string of players along the shooting line. :thumright:
