Flattening the Astro Pitch
Flattening the Astro Pitch
Hi all, Today i managed to snap up a original Subbuteo Astro Pitch for £10. it has some minor creases that hinder play, does anyone know a way to rid of these smallish creases?

It all seems very easy, this revolution game
But when you start to really play things won't be quite the same
Your intellectual theories on how it's going to be
Don't seem to take into account the true reality

Thanks Up the boro, I'll give that a try! Another question... Which way is the pitch meant to be rolled up? Playing surface on the inside or outside?
I'll let you know how I get on.

No, the playing surface should be facing outside when rolled up.
Re: Flattening the Astro Pitch
I used a hair dryer to work out some of the creases today, it seems to have works on some real minor creases. However, there are still some rather larger ones that hamper play a little. So far from having it rolled up it seems to have cured the creases lots, they're not as bad as what they once were. Now that the pitch is rolled the correct way, I can only hope that this will help to a further extent at removing the creases.
Does anyone else have any further ideas to remove them?

Wait for next summer. On a really hot sunny day hang it or drape it over a washing line. Leave it all day for a day or two and the creases will be gone.

Depends where the lad lives, after 2 days outside the fooo-king Astropitch might be gone.......Wait for next summer. On a really hot sunny day hang it or drape it over a washing line. Leave it all day for a day or two and the creases will be gone.

Or he might not get two days of summer.
Re: Flattening the Astro Pitch
Thanks for the help guys, I'll give that a try next year.
Re: Flattening the Astro Pitch
Definitely roll it with the playing surface facing out, it will lay flatter without curling up.

Having the same issues with my pitch.
Re: Flattening the Astro Pitch
Let me know how you get on Sammy, have you found a good way of making it better? I've had mine rolled up for a few days. I reroll it each day just to make sure it's sitting nice.

Still not a great success. Stretching it out with my hands helps but still a few major creases to take out. Days on my one DONT iron , yet many folks have had success in doing so.
Re: Flattening the Astro Pitch
I really hope we find a way of getting rid of the creases...
