Unfortunately, there've been a spate of withdrawals from the above competition, the entry list for which now reads:

1. ASTON VILLA (Jeremy Boothman - bases tbc)
2. BLACKBURN ROVERS
3. BRADFORD PARK AVENUE (Mark Taylor - Subbuteo lightweights)
4. BURNLEY
5. EVERTON (John Devaney - 1960s classic HWs)
6. NEWCASTLE UNITED
7. OLDHAM ATHLETIC (Ally Bouwmeester - 1960s classic HWs)
8. SUNDERLAND (Dave Willett - bases tbc)

THREE spaces in the tournament therefore remain unclaimed.

our part in the "spate" and I believe Paul's too was actually down to the proximity of the Lincoln flats event ... as it turns out I could well be unavailable for the whole summer for work reasons in which case we will miss Stoke and the flats too I'm afraid ... such is life ... work has to come first.

Sorry for the delay in replying, Mark - I've been away. If you want your team to be historically accurate, then the keeper should probsbly wear an identical strip to his team mates. Prior to WW1 the only distinguishing feature in most goalies' kits was a cap. To avoid confusion when playing subbuteo though you'd definitely want to make your spare keeper's BASE different in colour from the rest of your team even if you make the kit he's wearing the same. Hope that makes sense! 8)
