Im reliably informed that there at least 500 blokes playing the game ( in whatever code ) within a 100 mile radius of Maidenhead
at least 500 eh ? Who told you that ? ..... a giant white rabbit ?

Aye, and a claret and blue one and a few others wot I met at Chingford who said the turnout was lamentable considering how many played in the southern quarters of England.

There are not 500 players in the whole of these islands who have any interest in playing in any kind of national event whatever the rule set ... the players may well be out there but as has been discussed many times they are often happy doing their own thing .... in small numbers up and down the country ...

...a bit of realism is good for the soul every now and then

Well, fair enough on the dabblers point, but ye get me point. Theres a LOT more English in the Sarf who do play Tourneys who could make the effort to turn up once in a while. But I fear we digress from the topic.

I don't think it's a case of making an effort .. it's a hobby/pastime/game so therefore it's a case of playing if and when you feel like it ? .. the topic was entries and Jon could do with a few more by the sound of it .. so on this occasion we haven't digressed

Well with the new management at the venue I will need to decide by 18th jan as otherwise i am liable for the £200 venue fee even if the event or event in part is cancelled
Don't tell me Jon, I already bought the plane tickets! I'm pretty sure by the next few months people will be joining!
