Thanks to Rudi for hosting a great Subbuteo session this past Sunday afternoon. The venue is a good find and will be a good base for future meets, including the September event.

It is three years since I last played Subbuteo at the Lionheart meets and I wasn't even any good then but despite being just as bad and also rusty on the OS rules, I thoroughly enjoyed the opportunity to play again and meet old friends and new who also enjoy playing the game in the right way.

Well done Rudi. Looking forward to future meets at Harrow.

PS Scored a goal from a moving ball that even Steve Moreton would have been proud of!

   Excellent stuff. This is what it's all about folks. I think the more of these sessions that are pictured and reported the better. It can only encourage others, myself included, to organize more meetings more frequently no matter how small the number of participants. Well done.

And while on the subject of small meetings, I'm currently looking for a suitable venue in Letterkenny in which we could hold a monthly meet. Be that a Saturday afternoon or an evening during the week. I'm also toying with the idea of holding an 'Ulster Subbuteo Championship' in Letterkenny this year. My reason for an Ulster Championship is because the lads in NITFA and TFAI have always hosted the All Ireland Championships and it wouldn't be fair to disrupt their program. I can think of 17 names from this Island that, if all are available, could possibly play in the Ulster Championship. And a few more could be added if players were able to travel. I must say the thought of it is very exciting. I think the best approach is to send out 'feelers' to see what time of year suits everyone and then narrow in on a date that suits everyone or almost everyone. Any ideas or opinions would be most welcome folks.

First time I've had a go at old Subbuteo for many a moon & it was thoroughly enjoyable.
Much more random than the slidy version with players stopping on the baize & falling over almost as often as that Forestieri fella that plays for Sheffield Wednesday.
