Thoroughly enjoyable day, thanks for all your hard work Andy. Nice to finally meet up with a few forum members that I've known a long time but never met, and catch up with a few others that I've not seen in a long time!

Great day Andy, well done - thoroughly enjoyable - shame I didn't win a game or score a goal, but plenty of room for improvement. My Morrocco team is still like new, as the players didn't see much of the ball! Nice to meet other players too. Many thanks. Jeff G.

The only thing I'd say is that if you are going to have a themed oldsubbuteo event I'd suggest using the OS rules rather than advanced ? I appreciate that it was advertised as advanced from the outset ,and that's fine obviously , but the advanced rules on here remain open to interpretation sometimes where the OS ones are more exhaustive ?

Just a thought and meant to help remove one or two debates that arose yesterday ?

Cheers

Ralph

Echoing other comments, many thanks to Andy for providing the venue and opportunity to meet up with friends and fellow Subbuteo enthusiasts for what turned out to be thoroughly enjoyable day out (despite my remaining goalless over five games and missing the chance to convert one of my three goalless draws by failing to capitalise on a goalie going AWOL and missing an open goal!). Thanks also to Jeff for having a OHW team that I needed.

That is two years running now and I hope that the support for this tournie and fair will continue to allow Andy to run this as an annual event

great stuff andy is that 3 or 4 events currently abroad hope to make next year .os rules are probably best as ralph suggests .

http://subbuteo.ugocapeto.com/media/131 ... lebook.pdf

OS rules on the link if anybody would like to download them ...

I was caught out by the offside rule in the qf as I'd forgotten that while the OS rule allows a defending player to be touching the shooting line to claim offside the Advanced rule requires the defender to be fully inside the shooting area ? ... our friends from Wolverhampton seemed to have downloaded the WASPA advanced rules on that one ? not to worry ...

also Alex fell foul of the FISTF moving back rule where his admittedly very good opponent (and genuinely nice guy by the way) insisted on a free kick for moving backs where OS requires replay the move and miss your block and the advanced listed on here doesn't distinguish between back and moving back ..

then we have the different rules about placing figures at goal kicks - now I think the OS rules are better because they give less experienced players a better chance to attack and hopefully enjoy the games more ? just my view ... what do we reckon ?

all little things that perhaps don't matter but we could do with using the OS rules in my view as they cover almost everything and they might encourage more returnees /youngsters/people who don't get chance to play much to join in ?

and again none of that detracts from a very good Sunday out
