Yes, that is a real shame. Perhaps we could move Italy to Zone 1

Hi BC

I am now finding that Parcelmonkey is starting to be very competitive when it comes to both inland and offshore shipping.

Selling a large collection of subby at the moment. four fifths of it of to Italy.

ISF really really should be adequate.

A couple of things I do is ALWAYS put the return address in Italian ie "INDIRIZZO DI RITORNO"

Contrary to popular belief, items can be tracked

The website page of italian post for tracking is :http://www.poste.it/online/dovequando/c ... ccomandata.

It actually gives more information than Royal Mail ever do!!!

Happily tracking all my parcels at the moment

That is a VERY interesting comment there. So do you paste The Royal Mail tracking number into that site ? Is it as easy as that?

Basically yes just copy and paste the tracking number into the Inserisci il codice dell'invio: box
enter the date underneath. This is not necessarily the actual date you posted you might need to enter the date you posted or the next 2 days after. also it will take at least 2 days after posting to appear.

For example a team I posted last monday has the following information:

Spedizione RJ659580160GB con data 01/11/2010:
Accettato dal centro postale di MILANO CSI WINDOWS in data 03-NOV-2010
Consegnato dal portalettere del centro postale di GE RECCO RECAPITO in data 05-NOV-2010

Just read this thread for the first time ever. Who'd be an international Subbuteo seller ? That would drive me mental.

Interesting post fellas. On the 8th and 21st Dec I sent to Parcels to the same person in Italy. Not having sent teams there before in small packages I was assured by my local post office that 1st Class Airmail would be fine. The bid were not huge but an ok amount of money. Teh guy has said that both parcels have not turned up. The tricky situation is I have to take his word for it. I told him wait due to the christams period and bad weather until the end of Jan. However, I didnt realise that he can claim back his money from Paypal. This surely leaves people open to fraud. His english isnt any good and my Italian is even worse, but I have found that he is not really answering my questions. I.e not checking the address is right etc. Also name on the pay pad id is different from his ebay user name, but I guess that could be his partners account he uses.

All in all I think I wont send abroad again, too much hassle, reading the threads we are dealing with a dodgy Italian Post Office with the normal poor customer service from Royal Mail

It could be one of the usual scammers!!

Over the past few months some parcels I sent by Airmail to Italy have taken ages to arrive - one took 6 weeks.

A couple of guys launched Paypal disputes, and then withdrew them when the package appeared.

Checkout and ordering a bit fiddly but they are CHEAP
