Strange to cease the auctions, but probably got a very good offer. Although on one lot the seller (Suzy) says they will bring them to the next Sheffield fair. Odd.
Current spares: Brescia x2 light blue inner, white outer, PMs please if you can help.

Also on the !964 advert she states that she is offering free postage to UK buyers, as she wants to gain a good reputation with buyers. Well if she is going to end auctions early its not a great way to start.

Could be that the seller's withdrawn them; possibly because of the discussion within this thread.

This is the seller's (Suzy ??) other auction, which is still live, at this moment.

Subbuteo eleven HW Teams in boxes | eBay

Some nice teams.

Read the description. Loads of spares showing in photos 7 and 9. This might explain where some of the figures in the card displays have come from. See any that match ?? Would explain the anomolies with kits not matching team names, some players in the card displays showing playwear, moulded figures appearing in the card displays, etc.

The fact that the figures are all over the place for me shows the items are genuine and not some clever fraudster trying to make it look good having all the right pieces in the right places

Yes. I think the cards are genuine. The story behind the cards and the family connection feels right. I think the seller is genuine, too (unlike some of the fraudsters whose names get mentioned on this forum from time to time).

If some, or all, of the figures were originally missing when the seller inherited the collection, then it may have been better to have sold the card displays without any figures present.

Absolutely the cards themselves appear genuine to me as I said in my initial post I feel that someone probably without any kind of malice has simply replaced the figures over time BUT for me the team names( almost certainly stuck on later ) render the cards worthless .... mind I'm fussy with paperwork)programmes etc 99 per cent of my football collection is mint.

Interesting to see them either way

I agree the tampering has greatly reduced the authenticity of the items, especially when you don't know the extent of what has been done. For example are the hideous lumps of goo holding the players in place original ? I would suspect not as we know that players have been changed. Its also strange that the 1968 display has OHW's when the new classic HW's had replaced them by that time.
