nothing wrong there guys. The ball raising shute came in the box as a support for the early terracing.
See Peter Upton's site for confirmation
http://www.peter-upton.co.uk/sub9.htm#C ... 0Terracing.

Aye, tis true!!

The early terraces came with two "Ball raising chutes" as supports (Clearly illustrated on the box).

The thing that gets me is that someone obviously had the bright idea to use up all the unwanted chutes that were probably cluttering up the factory (lets face it, no-one ever used the bleeding things anyway). Does this mean that the height and shape of the terrace was designed to fit the humble chute, or did someone discover by accident that it was just exactly the right dimensions to act as a support?

Secondly, does it make me a really, really Sad Git that I even think about such matters?

God, I need to get out sometimes .......... "Matron, more medicine please!"
