DIVISION ONE: Velez Sarsfield (2) 5 Wolverhampton Wanderers 0
DIVISION TWO: Fluminense (2) 2 Partick Thistle (0) 3

Two vastly contrasting matches. Velez played easily their best game of the season, scoring within 30 secs of the kick-off and never looking back, whereas Fluninense started like world beaters and finished like a bunch of school girls. (Sorry, is that sexist?)

City were awesome in front of goal tonight , biggest win of the season by a country mile .Score line doesn't tell the whole story though Shilts made 2 superb stops from Latchford and one from James , and Mahoney hit both posts
Straight on for the days ahead !

Thanks. Opening post updated with results.

That Rangers-WBA must be the shock of the round, especially as the Baggies' manager has gone AWOL...

Tatran Presov 1 vs Fiorentina 2

Tatran not at the races for this one - they pulled back a consolation in the final 2 minutes but otherwise posed little threat...

Brighton 3 v Liverpool 0

Liverpool had the lions share of play in the first half and Brighton just held out to go in level at half time. Five minutes after the break the home side took the lead after the Liverpool keeper pushed out a shot to the edge of the area. Lua Lua ran between two defenders to smash the ball high into the net. Relegation threatened Brighton finally found their shooting boots and added a further two goals from Murray and Barnes in a five minute spell midway through the half.

Melchester 0 v Floriana 0

A game dominated by the visiting team, who almost won it when they hit the inside of the post as the final whistle blew. The ball settled on the line with Charlie Carter breathing a sigh of relief.
