The game was played by your predecessor as manager back in August.

We played about 20 games in each division using a different set of fixtures from a different source. After a few weeks it was spotted that the fixtures weren't up to scratch - some ties were duplicated. So we abandoned them and moved onto a different set, but they threw up the games in a different order.

Sorry, I know its a bit frustrating but we agreed it was best to keep the August matches and include as they some up in the rounds of re-jigged fixtures.

I am in the middle of doing a blitz on them, getting them all out of the way so we have a long "clean" run home. This is achieved by playing the Rounds of fixtures in a different order (but all games will still be played!!).

This approach affects some teams more than others though, and its why some players have had to put up with successive weeks without a game...

Leicester City (2)3 v (0) 1 Toronto
Worthington 2
Sammels
City's recent good run continues with a solid performance at Filbo
No. 10 scored for the away side

Go Ahead Eagles (0) 0 v (0) 1 Shamrock Rovers
The Eagles can't buy a win of late , this could've been 5 apiece but for the excellence of the keepers on show
No. 9 scored the only goal of a good game with a corker into the top left
Straight on for the days ahead !

Swansea 1 v Velez Sarsfield 0

This game could have gone either way, but was settled by a goal midway through the second half from Alan Curtis.

I managed to play two matches last night:

Derry City 2 vs Wolves 2

Tight match, end to end stuff which could have been decided either way if chances had been taken

Tatran Presov 0 vs Brighton 3

A complete contrast. Brighton utterly dominated and could have had 6 (they hit the post twice and the goalie pulled off one fine save). Tatran on the other hand could hardly mount a serious attack all match...

As an aside, I played this match ref 221 vs ref 222 - which is vaguely plausible, given Brighton's 1980ish kit - just for the hell of it...

Hi

West Ham (0) 3 vs Manchester United (1) 2

What a second half from the Hammers, a Di Canio hatrick.

van Puymbroeck

Much needed win for the basement boys , and much deserved , only the brilliance of McCloy kept the home side down to 2 goals

Northampton 4 v 2 Southport
Northampton entertain top of the table Southport .......Southport went into this game top of the league and favs to win ? Well Cobblers to that Northampton went one dwn before half time then 0-2 dwon after the first attack of the second half. Northampton then made three subs and this gave Northampton the momentum that they had been missing within two mins of the subs coming on NT were on level terms 2-2. Things went from bad to worse for the table toppers.....a penalty given away and converted with a fierce penalty strike 3-2. Southport tried to get into the game but lost a key defender due to a sickening injury legs sheared off at the peg!!! Very sad and sickening way to end your career. He will need a complete repaint and re base.....bummer. This was to much for the Southport players who looked visably shocked at this event. Heads went down and Northampton went ahead and with in min left made it 4-2. A classic match between these two sides and Northampton take some vital points in this tuff div two match.
