7 Everton 6 1 1 4 4 10 -6 4
8 Man Utd 6 0 3 3 8 11 -3 3

Up to date table above.
l had to re enter the teams into fixturelist.com because 12 months of inactivity had expired. So some of the upcoming fixtures have already been played. But as l play the fixtures round after round, l just enter the result of the match that was played last January. l hope you follow!
The interesting fact from the table above is that the 2 bottom teams are on the new subbuteo bases, where as the rest are on Parodi, superfooty and one piece hasbros. Anyway there is only 3 points separating the top 6 with one more round till we're half way. League cup 1st RD 1st leg tomorrow evening. Stay tuned!

League Cup 1st RD 1st leg Reaults:

Everton 1-1 Chelsea
Man Utd 0-0 Liverpool
Spurs 3-0 Arsenal
Newcastle 0-1 Man City.

All good results for the away teams apart from Arsenal.
They came up against a Spurs team who are now playing
on Zeugo bases - There was too many colour clashes between
Everton, Chelsea and Spurs. An unpolished Zeugo base can curl
so thats good enough for Subbuteo. Spurs have a huge advantage
now with their new shooting power!

Second legs to be played next week. Its back to the league action this evening.

UPDATE:

Being stuck indoors cos of the bad weather is no bad thing. Plenty of time for Subbuteo!
Three more rounds of matches played and below is the updated table.

.................P PTS GD
Liverpool....9 18 +9
Man City.....9 15 +4
Newcastle...9 13 +1
Chelsea......9 12 0
Arsenal......9 12 -1
Spurs........9 11 -1
Everton.....9 9 -5
Man Utd....9 6 -7

Gaps are starting to open up now but with 5 rounds still to play its not over by a long shot.
Only 7 points separate the top 6. The 2 teams on the new subbuteo bases still remain at the bottom.

Its back to League Cup action tomorrow night. Its the 2nd leg of the 1st round matches. Away goals will count after 90mins.
There will be no extra-time but straight to penalties, from the shooting line, if need be.

Last night's League Cup results:

Chelsea 1-2 Everton agg 2-3
Liverpool 2-1 Man U agg 2-1
Arsenal 1-1 Spurs agg 1-4
Man C 2-0 N'cstle agg 3-0
No real shocks apart from Chelsea's home defeat by Everton.
Could there be an all merseyside final like 1984?

Semi-Finals 1st leg

L'pool v Man C

Draw for the 1st RD of the FA Cup: Ties to be played this weekend.

Replays thur night.
Replay Results:

Lpool v Man C.

League results from the weekend:
Spurs 2-1 Lpool

Table update: P Pts GD
Liverpool 11 20 +9

Man City 11 16 +3
Arsenal 11 13 -2
Newcastle 11 13 -3
Everton 11 12 -7
Man Utd 11 9 -7

Chelsea and Spurs have gained ground on the leaders Liverpool
over the last 2 rounds of matches. Newcastle have faded away,
dropping from 3rd to 3rd from the bottom. You could say that with
3 games to go and only 4 points separating them, its now between the top 4.
Arsenal and Newcastle need miracles at this stage. This is not likely as they both
have 2 away games remaining.

League Cup Semi-Finals 1st legs to be played tonight.

Season finale this week!

So we enter the last week of The Donegal Subbuteo Solo League. The 4 remaining fixtures in the league and the 2 cup finals will be played this week. Below is the league table going into those final round of fixtures.

......................P PTS G.D.
Liverpool.........13 24 +10
Chelsea...........13 24 +8
Spurs..............13 20 +1
Man City..........13 16 +1
Newcastle........13 16 -3
Everton...........13 16 -5
Arsenal...........13 13 =
Man Utd..........13 12 -7

Newcastle v Spurs
Man C v Liverpool
Everton v Man Utd
Chelsea v Arsenal
Going by these fixtures, you would have to think that its looking very like its Chelsea's title. So will another chance to win the league slip away from Liverpool? But should they miss out, they have two cup finals to look forward to.

FA Cup Final
Chelsea v Liverpool

League Cup Final
Liverpool v Everton

CHELSEA ARE CHAMPIONS.

With Liverpool away(2 flicks) to Man City (3 flicks) and Chelsea at home (3 flicks) to out of form Arsenal, it was Chelsea's to lose. Both teams started the day level on points so it was going to be tense from the off. Chelsea comfortably saw off a poor Arsenal side 3-1 who were left rocking on their rounded bases, they must be wondering why they switched from the New Subbuteo bases at all. They will be back on the New Subby bases for the new season. Meanwhile Liverpool went down by the same score at Man City. So Brendan Rodgers and his reds narrowly miss out on the chance of another title! This was the 5th meeting of Liverpool v Man C this season- twice in the league and 3 cup games. Arsenal's decline has been incredible since they switched to the more rounded of the hasbro bases. They fell from a high of 3rd after 4 games to taking only 6 points from their remaining 10 games. There were more positive improvements from the other teams who switched bases after the league resumed-Man c went from L/W to superfooty and managed to reach 2 cup semi-finals. Newcastle who had only 1 point after 4 games gained 18 points in their last 10 games, they switched from L/W to the hasbro one piece similar to Chelsea.

So in conclusion, to make a league fairer and more of a level playing field for everyone, the new league will consist of all bases being as similar as possible.
There is also the possibility of 2 more leagues being played next season. A European Champions league played on modern bases- sureshot, total soccer, zeugo. And a L/W league.

FINAL TABLE:
---------------P PTS GD
Chelsea.......14 27 +10
Liverpool.....14 24 +8
Spurs..........14 20 -2
Man City......14 19 +3
Newcastle....14 19 =
Everton.......14 16 -6
Man Utd......14 15 -6
Arsenal.......14 13 -2
